Stuttgart, 22 June 2010. The certification system of the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen, DGNB) has found a strong partner in the East: the Russian Green Building Council (RuGBC) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the DGNB in Stuttgart on 22 June 2010. Headed by RuGBC board member Steffen Sendler, the DGNB’s new international partner organization is now forming a working group which will adapt the DGNB’s system to Russian construction projects, standards, and regulations. The DGNB will receive strong support from the Russian Chamber of Architects and the Club of German Architects and Engineers (KdAI) in Russia, with KdAI to play a central role. Both organizations are involved in adapting the system and will help with its introduction in Russia. A joint training course is scheduled for launch in July.
