The construction and real estate industry and the building stock have a key role to play in implementing the Paris Climate Agreement in Germany. The operation of our buildings alone is responsible for around 30 percent of the country's greenhouse gas emissions. A climate-neutral building stock by 2050 is also an objective of the EU Green Deal.
But what does carbon neutrality actually mean? How can one building make a difference? What options already exist and how can they be applied and implemented in practice?
The DGNB seminars on "Carbon Neutral Buildings" look at serial renovation as a method of decarbonising large building stocks, how BIM simplifies the life cycle-oriented planning of buildings, the planning and application of building-integrated photovoltaics and the principle of low-tech in the building sector.
